Barbless Hooks

Lately I've been using barbless hooks as a way to reduce injury to fish (and myself). My sense is that I catch about the same number of fish as I do with barbed hooks. Because the hook doesn't have a barb it penetrates the fishes jaw quicker so I end up being a bit faster. At the same time there may be a few instances where I don't keep the line tight and a fish gets away.

They key is that barbless fishing reduces injury to the fish and results in more fish surviving (if you don't keep them that is).
